Funeral services for William Carlisle Adams, 77, of Xenia, OH, who passed away Aug. 31, 1998 at Veteran's Medical Center, in Dayton, OH, were held Sept. 3, from Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Xenia. The Rev. Ron Coppock officiated. He was born March 22, 1921 in Wilder, TN, the son of James B. and Lola Elmore Adams. Mr. Adams was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also a charter member of the Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Xenia. Survivors include his wife, Christa; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Doug Kidd; Faye and Tim McIntire; grandchildren, Emily Kidd Anderson, Joseph Stanaway and Carrie Stanaway Whitson; stepgrandchildren, Aaron McIntire and Heather McIntire; great-grandchildren, Joseph Stanaway, Madeline Anderson and baby Whitson; sisters, Sybil Swafford, Jamie Agee, and Reeda Wampler; and brother, Walter Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lola Adams, and sister, Michelin. McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia was in charge of the arrangements
