Funeral services for Velma Glover Adams, 79, of Bainbridge, GA, who passed away April 13, 1998, will be held April 16 at 2 p.m. from the Morningside Baptist Church in Bainbridge, with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight, April 15, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge.

She was born Aug. 13, 1918 in Mitchell County, GA, the daughter of George Lofton Glover and Mollie Ether Brock Glover. Mrs. Adams was a beautician for 56 years. Survivors include her husband, Jack Adams of Bainbridge; son, Edward Adams of Fairfield Glade; brothers, Lenton Glover of Bainbridge, and Marlon Glover of Dallas; sisters, Olga G. Woodward of Bainbridge and Nell G. Higginbottom of Reynoldsville, GA; grandsons, Farrell Adams of Cookeville, Brian Adams of Oklahoma City, OK, and Clay Adams of Jackson, TN; and great-grandson, Kyle Adams of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Dewey Robinson, James Matthews, Don Kell, Larry Rice, Phillip Gleaton and Gerald Woodward. Drs. Thomas D. Murphy and Charles Pollock will officiate. Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, GA will officiate.
