Thomas Milton Roark was born June 24, 1941, in Harlan, KY, to Omar and Margaret Roark. The family moved to Nashville where Tom attended West End High School. He was saved at the Belmont Heights Baptist Church in Nashville. While there, he and Alice Faye were married on Oct. 2, 1983. He and Alice were members of First Baptist of Fairfield Glade. After 30 years, he retired from Ford Glass Plant in Nashville. He and Alice were members of Mountaineer Realty and the Crossville Realtors Association. he was a member of No. 732 Doric Lodge in Nashville, Knights Temple in Nashville Council No. 1 and Nashville Commandry No. 1 and a member of the Almena Shrine Temple. He was affiliated with NASCAR with CooCoo and Sterlin Marlin race teams. Tom was an avid golfer and a member of Druid Hills Country Club and Deer Creek Golf Club. Tom had been a resident of Fairfield Glade for six years. He was preceded in death by his father, Omar C. Roark, and is survived by his wife, Alice Faye; his mother, Margaret Roark; brothers Don Roark and Johnny Mack Roark; sons Joseph Roark and Ricky Roark; daughter Teri Mueller; stepson James Yates; and stepdaughters Regina Wall, Rebecca Horton and Abigail Szlajnda. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Masonic services were held Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002 and a memorial service was held at 4 p.m. Monday at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, Pastor Doug Turner of First Baptist Church of Fairfield Glade officiating. Honorary pallbearers were from the Ford Glass Plant, Tom's cousins, David Gill, AA and Friends and the CMC family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cumberland Heights Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center in Nashville, or the First Baptist Church of Fairfield Glade. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory were in charge of the arrangements.
