Crossville, TN - Richard E. DuBois, 79, passed away peacefully at his home on March 3, 2026. Born in Dayton, OH, Richard was the son of Robert and Viola DuBois.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, including a tour of duty in Vietnam from November 1967 through September 1968. For his bravery and service, he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart.

Following his return home, Richard married the love of his life, Judi. He built a long career with Standard Oil/BP Oil Company in Lima, OH, retiring in 2000. He and Judi later made their home in Crossville.

Richard had a strong commitment to serving fellow veterans and was an active volunteer with the Disabled American Veterans. He served as commander of the Crossville Chapter for many years before stepping down in fall 2025 due to declining health.

He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Dubois. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Judi; his sons, Anthony and Jason DuBois; his daughter, Kimberli DuBois; his grandsons, AJ and Matthew Dubois; and his granddaughter, Madison DuBois; a special sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Garry Francis; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on May 23, 2026, at Fairfield First Baptist Church Peavine Rd. behind Food City. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m., followed by the service at 11 a.m.
