Crossville, TN - Jerry Hilton Mayo born March 5, 1945 died on March 3, 2026 and is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Scott Mayo to whom he was married 61 years. Jerry is survived by their four children, Gloria Mayo of Bowling Green, KY; Jerri Hope Whelan (Mike) of Fayetteville, TN; Max Mayo (Emily) of Nashville, TN, Marty Mayo (Venessa) of Murfreesboro, TN. Jerry is also survived by grandchildren, Hannah Rice (Brad), Alan White Hardwick (Marlis), Emma Hall (Zach), Clayton Hall (Kennedy), Hilton Hardwick (Jessi), Justin Mayo, August Hardwick (Emma), Maddie Mayo, Shayla Mayo, and Nathan Max Mayo.

Additionally, he is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Isla, Clark, Clarence, Declan, Avery, Daisy, and Joani. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Mayo of Murfreesboro, TN; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents White and Laura Mayo, grandparents Charlie and Tedy Mayo, Joe and Mary Fuller, and great grandson Luke Hardwick.

Jerry graduated from Lascassas High School, MTSU, and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University. He began pastoral ministry in 1966 in the Tennessee Conference of The United Methodist Church and served 39 years prior to his retirement. He served an additional six years following retirement. Beyond the local church, Jerry was superintendent of the Pulaski District and was honored to be the endorsed episcopal candidate of the Tennessee Conference in 2004. He is the author of the book, "The Lazarus Church." Throughout the entirety of active and retired ministry, Patricia served as a faithful and effective pastor's wife.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Pomona Methodist Church located at 57 POW Camp Rd., Crossville, TN. A time of visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the service of death and resurrection beginning at 1 p.m. The service of committal will follow at the Crossville City Cemetery.
