R.D. Abston|May 18, 1936 - Oct. 1, 2003|R.D. Abston, 67, of Mayland, passed away Oct. 1, 2003. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey, with interment to follow in the Mayland Cemetery. The Rev. Greg Williams will officiate. Mr. Abston was born May 18, 1936 in Wilder, TN to the late Lon and Edith Lacy Abston. He was retired from Ontiro Corp. in Muncie, IN after 26 years of service. Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Sandra and Wayne Stacy of Muncie, IN and Janet Cook of Hartford City, IN; sons, Ronnie and Kathy Abston of Crossville; Bobby Abston and his companion, Janell Cooper of Mayland and Jacky Abston and his companion, Lisa Brown of Muncie, IN; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nellie and Estes Mahaney of Mayland, Emma and Jr. Robbins of Mayland and Betty and George Smith of Wilder, TN; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie (Cotton) and Zona Abston of Wilder, TN, George and Betty Abston of Mayland, Marvin Abston of Mayland and Arnold Abston of Mayland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Kilgore Abston; daughter, Donna Kay Abston; and brother, J.L. Abston. Goff Funeral Home in Monterey, TN is in charge of the arrangements.
