Chattanooga, Tennessee - Quineth Gale Roberts, 87, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away at home, peacefully, in his sleep on Feb. 17, 2026, losing his battle with heart and lung complications.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1938, to parents Guy Roberts and Jean Bennett Roberts Scott in Ooltewah, TN.
In 1964, he married the love of his life, Mary Worley Arnold, and settled back in Chattanooga. After his return to Chattanooga, he consistently competed in local recreational sports leagues for basketball, flag football and softball. Employment over the years included Mueller Co., St. Paul's In-As-Much Mission in Rossville, GA and then he took an opportunity at Lake Tansi Village in Crossville, relocating his family in 1974. He finished his 30-year career as resort recreation director at Lake Tansi in 2004.
Quineth was preceded in death by his father, Guy Roberts; mother, Jean Scott; brothers, Eddy and Roger Scott; sister, Gayla Anderson; and step-daughter, Kim Arnold.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Roberts; daughter, Cindy (Tom) Hackler; grandchildren, Chandler Hankins and Rhett (Lauren) Hackler; great-grandson, Cayden Smeltzer; and several nieces and nephews.
His Celebration of Life will be held at the Thunderbird Recreation Center at Lake Tansi Village in Crossville, Saturday, March 7, from 3-5 p.m. CST. Dress is casual and collegiate attire is encouraged.
