Philip J. Rogers, age 83, of Sparta, passed away on December 24, 2024 at Cumberland Medical Center.

Mr. Rogers was born on July 18, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan, son of Phil Rogers and Eleanor Kolly Rogers.

He was raised in Detroit, MI and attended and graduated from the U of D Jesuit High School and then the University of Michigan with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He moved to Sarasota, FL and lived there for 43 years. During his career he developed an interest in investments and he retired as a Certified Financial Planner from Raymond James and Associates. When he retired he retained his interest in investing, art collecting, reading and was an avid follower of 007. After retirement, he and Lyn moved to Crossville, on the Cumberland Plateau where they have lived for the past 13 years.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lyn Rogers; Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law David and Kathie Luther, Sister-in-law, Virginia H. Luther and several Nieces and Nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law, Larry Luther and Richard Luther.
