Funeral services for Minnie Gertrude Gertie Adkins, 84, of the Chestnut Ridge community, who passed away Aug. 10, 1997 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, were held Aug. 13 at Friends Chapel Church with burial in Hall Cemetery. Mrs. Adkins was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include children, Garland Jean and Thomas Gibson, both of Monterey, Vince and Temple Hall and Vincent and Rosetta Hall, all of Clarkrange; granddaughters, Euretha Roberts, Christy Walker, Kim Bridges, Sherry Jones and Darla Reed; grandsons, Thomas Joe Gibson, Jimmy Gibson, Larry Gibson, Travis Hall and Brandon Hall; great-grandchildren, Amber Adkins, Brittany Reed, Kevin Reed, Nikki Gibson, Eli Gibson, Stacia Hall and Jordan Roberts; niece, Belinda Hall; and nephew, Ricky Adkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Linnie Jones Adkins; sister, Geneva Adkins; and brothers, Garnie Adkins and Bill Adkins. The Rev. Danny Jones officiated. Schubert Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
