Merlin Duane Adams, 76, of Crossville, passed away July 28, 2011. Funeral services were held Aug. 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. James Ford officiating. Interment was held in Creston Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Woodward, OK, the son of the late Hobart Adams and Claire Lively Adams. He was retired from the oil well industry and was of the baptist faith. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Gaynelle Buckner Adams of Crossville; step-sons, Donnie Brown and John Brown both of Crossville; and sister, Maurine Schickedanz of Fargo, OK. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Ann Stevens Adams; son, Edgar Eddie Adams; step-sons, Jeff and Stevie Brown; brothers, Maurice Lee and Edgar Eldon Adams; and sister, Frances Elizabeth Dickerson. Pallbearers were Tim Brown, Donnie Brown, John Brown, Darrel Lane, John Wayne Keyes and Steven Brown. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
