Maxine Day Adams, 95, formerly of Crab Orchard, passed away May 16, 1997 in Charleston, Ill.
She was born July 5, 1901 in Bement, Ill., the daughter of William James and Sarah Gulliford Day.
Mrs. Adams was a public health nurse in Illinois before coming to Tennessee. She continued in nursing for several years. In 1930, she married Paul J. Adams. The Adams owned Alpine Floral Gardens in Crab Orchard, and then opened a florist shop in Crossville. She was a member of several hiking clubs and the Weavers Guild. She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews. A memorial service and burial notice will appear in a future edition of the Crossville Chronicle .
