Max Eugene Janow, Jr.


Max Eugene Janow Jr., 54, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at his home in Knoxville. Max was born on Aug. 29, 1964.
A memorial service for Max will be held at Woodlawn Methodist Church in Crossville on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m.
Max is survived by his wife, Veronica (Roni) Janow; son, Chris Janow (Brandy Wyatt); daughter, Betty Katherine ("BK") Janow; and grandchildren, Bailey and Brandy Cravens. He leaves behind his beloved four-legged "kids," Lucy and Ricky. He is also survived by his mother, Nina Sanders; step mother, Stella Janow; brothers, Joey (Angie) Janow, Thomas Blake (Emily) Janow, and Ray (Loretta) Janow; sisters, Patty Baildon, Darlene Miller, Roseanna (Freddie) Stults and Linda (Tom) Bortle. Max also leaves behind a special aunt, Sue Taylor, along with other aunts, in-laws, and multiple nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, Max Eugene Janow Sr; daughter, Leslie Michelle Janow; brother, Thomas Byers; sister, Sandy Young; and cousin, Linda Taylor.
Max enjoyed being involved in community and civic organizations, including the Rotary Club, both in Crossville and Knoxville, the Chamber of Commerce, the tourism board, the Republican Party and pet adoption groups. He was a strong advocate for pet spaying and neutering.
Max made an impact on many people in his lifetime. He was always willing to help others, whether with a home repair project or words of encouragement. Max spent the majority of his career in hotel management, which he loved, and especially enjoyed team building with others in his profession. Max will be missed by his family and friends and all who knew and loved him.

I spent some time with Max in the Navy. My sincerest condolences to his family, friends, co workers and anyone else who knew Max.

No matter where he went or what he did, he was the best of us.
