Mary Jane Bowser
Mary Jane Bowser, 93, peacefully transitioned from this world and into eternal life on Friday morning, Jan. 17, 2020.
She was a long-time resident of Hubbard, OH, but she spent her last nine years living in Crossville. Her gentle spirit and smile were seen by all. Her daughter, Linda Turner, wishes to thank all her caregivers, especially Gladys Whittenburg, who remained in her care the full nine years, and Betty Harris, who was also my constant supporter to the very end. Without them, I could not have fulfilled my mother's wish to remain at home.
She was born Dec. 25, 1926, in Sharpsville, PA, to George and Martha (Coxson) Wasilko, the fifth of eight children.
She married Kermit M. Bowser on July 12, 1947, and were happily married for 53 years.
She graduated from Youngstown State University in 1964 while raising her family.
She spent 22 years in the Youngstown City School District as an elementary school teacher.
Mom loved to cook and can and would always provide her special home-cooked meal for her family. She was known for her hospitality, creativity and loved to serve and care for others. Mom was an avid book reader and would amazingly read up to five books a week provided by the Hubbard library.
She was a devoted member of St. Bernadette's in Masury, OH, and knew her Savior upon her passing.
She is survived by her children, daughters Linda (Ron) Turner of Crossville and Sandy (James) Rebeck of Colorado Springs, CO, and son, Harold Steven (Robin) Bowser of Vienna, OH. She was a grandmother of seven (Greg Turner of Nashville, Mathew Turner of Youngstown, OH, Mary Ruth Turner of Crossville, Jennifer Cordray of Spokane, WA, Jamie Corbett of Colorado Springs, CO, Sara Rebeck of Englewood, CO, and Collin Bowser of Dallas, TX) and seven great-grandchildren (Maggie, Rebekah, Emma, Samuel Cordray, Jack Sandwisch, Gianna and Kaven Corbett).
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kermit, and seven siblings, Albert Wasilko, Edward Wasilko, Margaret Kirsch, Alice Thomas, Clara Marino, Martha Wahala and George Wasilko.

I was privileged to have been one of Mary’s caregivers in the last few years of her life. She was an endearing person. My husband Milton and I loved her. We know you are Now resting in the loving arms of the Lord.
