Marilyn K. Christensen (Lori) Obituary
Marilyn Kathleen Christensen (Sorensen), 86, of Midlothian, Texas, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 20, 2025, following a brief illness.
Marilyn was born on December 13, 1938, in Creighton, Nebraska, to the late Soren and Emma Sorensen. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, Arthur Francis Christensen, and her cherished son, Jay Arthur Christensen.
Marilyn is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lori Christensen Holcombe; son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Lee Christensen and Sheila; and her treasured grandchildren, Jessica and Richmond Perry, Scott Holcombe, Lyndsay and Riley Erichsen, and Alexander and Meghan Christensen. She was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her great-grandchild, Hayes Perry, who is due in mid-April.
A devout follower of Jesus Christ, Marilyn's faith was at the center of her life. She loved to share the joy and peace of her faith with everyone she met. Marilyn served as the Music Director for her church choir, where she used her talent and love of music to glorify God. Her passion for music extended beyond the church, as she loved playing the piano and singing.
Marilyn was a gifted cook and could turn any meal into a delicious treat. She had a special gift for making people feel loved and cared for through her cooking. Marilyn also made a lasting impact through her charitable work. In Tennessee, she founded a quilting group called For the Children, which made quilts for children who had been removed from homes due to drug addiction. Each quilt included a verse of comfort, providing both warmth and hope to those in need.
Marilyn loved to travel and explore new places, and she had a special fondness for collecting glass angels, a beautiful reflection of her gentle spirit and love for beauty in all things.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. Marilyn's family and friends take comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of her Savior, reunited with those she loved.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at a later date in Fremont, Nebraska where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and son.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to a charity of your choice or to House of Hope, https://houseofhopetn.org/.
Marilyn will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
