Lynda William Abston, 65, of Crossville, passed away Feb. 24, 2011. Funeral services were held Feb. 27 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Bryan Findley officiating. Interment was held in Smith's Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Abston was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Robert and Merle Adkinson Williams. She was a private security officer and a volunteer foster grandparent. She was also a member of Smith's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Homer Cordell Abston of Pleasant Hill; daughters, Lynda Maier of Sylvan, OH, Jerrie Cobb and husband Tony of Crossville and Lynn Colter and husband Larry of Red Boiling Springs; sons, Larry Flake and wife Laura of Crossville and Dusty Flake and wife Dale; brothers, Richarde Williams and wife Linda of Florida and John Williams and wife Laura of Okeechobee, FL; sisters, Barbara Hopkins and husband Carly of Jacksonville, FL and Trudy McCormick and husband Ralph of Waycross, GA; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Troy Voyles; son, Ben Smith; brother, Robert Williams; sisters, Penny Lawson, Roberta Williams and Peggy Williams; and grandchild, Dale Cobb.
