At his home, with family at his side, on June 6, in his 78th year, Louis Bud Hale, the Story Teller, went to heaven. Bud Hale, dearest husband of 57 years to the love of his life, Sylvia Braswell Hale.

Much adored Daddy to Agnee Haley Hale, Diahn Suydam and husband Doug, Keeli Mjaatveit and husband Grant. "My first claim to fame is making beautiful girls." Fun loving Papaw to Reese Ervin and wife Lindsey, Skyler Chase Ervin, Brett Ervin, Lee Suydam, Rebecca Chumley and husband John, Misty Suydam, Brooklyn Kimbro Mjaatveit, Keela Kimbro, Kaali Kimbro, Brittany Suydam and Daulton Kimbro.
"Boys, we will all resume Intense Commando Training when we meet again. Girls, at the end of the day make sure you make yourself happy."
Greatest great-grandfather to Amelia and Atticus Suydam, Hunter, Dakota and Baby Boy Ervin.
"Who wants to go bear hunting??!?"
Dear brother to the late Anita Hale Wilkison and big brother to Sandra Hale Simeonsson.
Devoted and loving son to the late Leroy and Lillian Burton Hale.
Remembered fondly by sister-in-law Anne Benton, many nieces, nephews and friends he called
family. "My home is your home and call me Papaw."
Bud was a Golden Eagle Auburn football player, pipe fitter, self-educated engineer retiring from
TVA at age 55, a property developer, poet and story teller. He was genuine, creative, energetic, compassionate, and the best Daddy and Papaw ever!
Papaw, you were a great leader to this family. "It was my pleasure."
Funeral services were held at Hood Funeral Home on Monday, June 10, at 2 p.m. Burial was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Cumberland County or Tansi Community Church Missions.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
