Lewis Matthew Turner

Lewis Matthew "Matt" Turner, 66, was born May 1, 1960, and passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026, in Tampa, FL, following complications from cancer.
Matt was preceded in death by his father, William Turner; his mother, Sara Turner; and his brother, Jeff Turner, all of Crossville.
He is survived by his son, Alex Turner of Chattanooga; his daughter, Deanna Mackie of Nashville; his sister, Mara Turner Napier (Jack) of Crossville; his former spouse and friend, Yanett Turner of Tampa, FL; and his nieces and nephews, Jason Napier, Shannon Turner, Melanie Napier Beauchamp, and Clark Napier.
Matt was born in Crossville and graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1978. He attended Tennessee Tech University from 1978 to 1982 and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He lived most of his life in Crossville before moving to Tampa, FL, and, most recently, Panama City, Panama.
Matt was employed by W.F. Martin Company in Knoxville, TN, from 1982 through 1985 as a sales representative in the roofing equipment division. He was then employed by Firestone Building Products in Antioch, TN, as a senior technical representative and backup to the regional coordinator from 1985 through 1989. He then became a longtime member of the Turner family roofing business, Turner Roofing, founded by his father, William, in 1961. He worked with his brother-in-law, Jack Napier, and his nephews, Jason and Clark.
Matt will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
As per Matt's wishes, a private memorial will be held at a later date.
