Lena Alta Ford, 88, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 30, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 2, 2002 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., with burial in Oak Hill Baptist Cemetery. The Rev. Hank Jones officiated. Mrs. Ford was born June 26, 1913, in Morgan County, TN, the daughter of Woodson and Callie McCormick Taylor. She was a school teacher for 39 years. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wilma L. and Boyd Raper of Crossville; sisters and brother-in-law, Amy Burnett, and Ruth and Charles Douglas; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Beth and Troy Selby of Crossville and Leann and Alan Burns of Atlanta, GA; great-granddaughters, Kaylee Selby and Paige Selby; nieces, Ruth Ann Calahan, Shannon Bryant and Betty Jo Gentry; and nephew, Bill Douglas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodson and Callie Taylor; her husband, Clell Ford; infant daughter, Sue Ann Ford; and sisters, Wilma Taylor and Edna Carey. Pallbearers were Bill Douglas, Scott Douglas, Troy Selby, Alan Burns, Gene Parsons and Daryl Beard. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of the arrangements.
