Lee Philip Emmott Obituary

Crossville, TN - Lee Philip Emmott, 88, of Crossville went to be with the Lord on Jan. 26, 2026. He was born in Quincy, MA to the late Philip and Edna (Moore) Emmott. Lee was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Conway. He later joined the Seabees and Civil Air Patrol. Lee was a seasoned pilot who flew private planes, taught flying lessons, and also did weather readings for Watts Bar and Sequoyah Nuclear Plants. As a volunteer, Lee flew children from St. Jude Children's hospital to their final resting place. While living in Florida, he was a crane operating engineer and assisted in the original construction of Walt Disney World.

Lee loved music, particularly the steel guitar. He was kind, cheerful, and never met a stranger, especially other veterans. Lee was always available to lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed by his family.

Lee is survived by his wife, Gail, of 35 years and his children, Lisa Emmott (Kerry) Carver, Lori Emmott (Christopher) Herbert, Joe Emmott, Judi (Neale) Culver, Tyler and Josh Burt. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn (Richard) McCabe, as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Lee is proceeded in death by his sisters, Mary and Louise Emmott; his brothers, Robert and John Emmott; and step-daughters, Tonya and Jeannie Burt.

A memorial service will be held at Central Baptist Church in Crossville on Saturday, March 7. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with a service to follow at 11 a.m.
