Lawrence Edward Houston, 61, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 23, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 27 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory Inc., with burial in Big Lick Cemetery. David Dalton officiated, with special music by Marty McCoy and Wilma McCoy, and their daughter Tracy. Mr. Houston was born Aug. 24, 1940, in West View, OH, the son of Nolen and Myrtle Houston. He was a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Houston of Crossville; daughters, Lisa Wood of Crossville and Laura Simmons of Pikeville; sons, Gordon Houston and Scott Houston, both of Crossville; sisters, Linda Eskildsen and Donna Ruch, both of Smyrna, TN, Marge Smith and Earlene McDowell, both of South Carolina, and Noreen Turner of Crossville; brothers, Clarence Houston, Jack Houston and Fred Houston, all of Crossville; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolen and Myrtle Houston. Pallbearers were Todd Houston, Jason Smiddie, Bob Gilreath, Wendell Hunt, Cleo Turner and David Rose. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
