Larry Seward Evans, 67, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 31, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 3, 2002, from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Mayland Cemetery. Bro. David Mahan and Bro. Scott White officiated, with special music by David Mahan and Terry Christopher. Flag presentation, firing detail and taps were presented by the DAV at the cemetery. Mr. Evans was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Cumberland County, the son of Seward Norris and Nota Evans. He was a diesel mechanic, and a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Kilgore Evans of Crossville; sons, Tim Kilgore and Larry Wayne Evans, both of Crossville; daughters, Sandra Kilgore and Lisa Pearl Evans, both of Crossville; mother, Nota Evans Flowers of Crossville; stepfather, Kelly Flowers of Crossville; brothers, Thomas Evans of Livingston, TN, and Seward Norris of Oak Ridge, TN; sister, Loretta Garrison of Crossville; and three grandchildren, Christopher J. Davis, Caitlin Evans and Stacie Evans. He was preceded in death by his father, Seward Norris. Pallbearers were Eddie Kilgore, Joe Kilgore, Dallas Kilgore, Jerry Kilgore, Ronnie Kilgore, Bobby Kilgore and Danny Kilgore. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
