Kay West
Kay West was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Albion, MI. She passed away Oct. 9, 2019, five days after celebrating with her immediate family her 80th birthday. She had been battling lupus for several years. Kay was preceded in death by both parents, Arthur Dailey and Josephine (Champney).
Kay graduated from Washington Gardner High School in Albion in 1957 and attended Michigan State University for two years. She was an avid "State" fan. During her working career she was employed in various accounting positions in several different industries, most recently as an accounts payable supervisor for GES (convention industry) in Las Vegas, NV. She and husband, Duane, both retired in 2004 and relocated to Fairfield Glade. During retirement she enjoyed some golf, card playing, travel, cruises and was involved in several card-making clubs.
Kay and Duane were high school sweethearts and became reacquainted. They married in May 1983. She is survived by her husband, Duane; her two children - son, Christopher Yorkey (wife, Cheryl) of Murfreesboro, and daughter, Shae Anderson (husband, Keith) and granddaughter, Jessica, all of Mason, MI; stepchildren, James West of Plano, TX, and Nichole West of Frisco, TX; grandchildren, John West of Washington and Lauren and Taylor, both of Florida. She is also survived by her sister, Joann (Howard) Becker of Mason, MI, and several nieces and nephews, all from the Mason and Lansing, MI, areas. She also leaves cousins in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, California, Colorado and Florida.
Per Kay's wishes, there were no services in Fairfield Glade. A celebration of her life will be held next spring in Mason, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Lupus Foundation of America at www.lupus.org.

Antique Kay!
Your smile, your sense of humor, and so many visits spent in the sunroom (healing room) at moms talking about anything and everything. We continually tried to solve the worlds problems. We’ll.....we tried. Loved all those times spent with you on your visits to Michigan. Seeing you made me happy. You were a special soul on this earth, and now a special soul in that beautiful place called heaven.
Love you, Christa.

Kay and Duane have been our friends for 30+ years. We knew Duane prior to their marriage. We traveled and visited them often over the years. We had so much fun going on trips and getting together. Will miss Kay and her kindness. She was a wonderful person and friend.

We've known the two of you for many years, Fred somewhat longer than me. So many good memories. We remember Vegas when you took us all around and we ate at the Cheesecake Factory.Kay ordered the meatloaf and it stood about a foot tall on a mound of mashed potatoes. Kay will be sorely missed, always a friend to all. Our loving condolences, Fred and Shelly
