Kathleen Keller Krueger Hickey

Kathleen Keller Krueger Hickey entered eternal life on Friday, June 7, 2019, peacefully at home in her bed. Her spirit is carried on by her sister, Donna Lee Dalenberg; three surviving children, Christopher Hickey, Jeffrey Hickey and Stephanie Lilly; her 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Sarah, Jessica, Esther, Charlene, Lian, Kyle, Cameron, Traci, Justin and Steven; her numerous great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life across the country too numerous to list but not forgotten. She is preceded in death by parents who raised her to be generous and loving with whomever she encountered; by her younger sister Patricia; her oldest daughter Jennifer Holloman; her daughter Pamela, whom she looked forward to holding for the first time; and her beloved husband, Lt. Col Thomas Bishop Hickey, Ret.
We were blessed to know her and learn many valuable lessons from her during her 89 years, among them: Give to charity. A glass of red wine will cure what ails you. Keep it (doesn't matter what it is) because you never know when you might need it. If it's not on sale don't buy it. If you like it buy one in every color. Music heals the heart, gives wings to the soul, and brings a necessary lightness to the world. Support your family in what they do even when you don't understand it; sometimes all people need is someone to listen. Ice cream and chocolate are essential food groups and dessert must be had with every meal; if you're having a bad day have it first. Lipstick can make all the difference; accessories are a necessity. Go to church on Sunday, fly the flag with honor, try new things, and be generous with your time and love.
Friends and family can pay their respects at the Pleasant Hill Community Church of Christ, on Sunday, July 14, beginning at 3 p.m. Kathleen will be laid to rest with her husband of 61 years, Tom, at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. In Kathleen's memory donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, 30 E. Adams St., Crossville, TN 38555.
Kathleen's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of her spirit of kindness, compassion, love for music and reading, and belief will live on through them.
We will forever feel your love.

A lady with a good sense of humor. I'm glad to of gotten to meet her and go to see a play at the Playhouse. We've known her for a short time. Too short.
