Jonnie Lee Mullis
March 27, 1944 - March 23, 2025
Mrs. Jonnie Lee Simmons Mullis, 80, of Crossville, TN was welcomed into eternity surrounded by her family on March 23, 2025, just four days shy of her 81st birthday.
Born in Mobile, Alabama to Henry and Aurellia Simmons, she was the middle child of six children.
On June 10, 1961, she married Jack F. Mullis, Jr. They were married for 63 years. In those 63 years they owned several successful convenience stores in Alabama and Tennessee; most recently Dixieland Texaco in Crossville, until they retired in 1995. Jack and Jonnie had three children, and they made their home in Lake Tansi.
Jonnie loved to travel. Her favorite color was pink. She loved the smell of Mulberry, shopping trips to Belk and dinner at Cracker Barrel. She took great pride in her home and caring for her family. She was of the Baptist faith and loved her church families.
Jonnie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Althea, Shelby and Lucy, her grandparents and a very special Aunt Erma Silvers.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Dixie Cole (Darryl), Christy Bailey (Tim) and Trey Mullis (Michelle), all of Crossville. Grandchildren, Nicole Cooper (David), of Livingston, Alexis Denney (Spencer) of Spring City, Darryl Cole, Jr. (Mei), Emilee Mullis (Tristan), Jack Mullis IV (Betty) all of Crossville and Madison Mullis of Pennsylvania. Great-Grandchildren, Allison, Bradley and John Oliver Cooper and Brooks Denney. Sisters, Freda Cross and Leona Robbins, a host of nieces and nephews and dogs Gypsy and Bama, who will definitely miss Nanny's cookies.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
