John Marion DArmond

John D'Armond, beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, on September 16, 1948, John brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone who knew him.

A graduate of Columbia Military Academy and Tennessee Technological University, John had successful careers as the Purchasing Director for General Processing and later in industrial sales for TAP Publishing.

John enjoyed golfing, reading his Bible, walking the neighborhood, feeding the birds and squirrels, supporting the Tennessee Vols and the Atlanta Braves, and most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was of the Methodist faith.

John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ethel Munro D'Armond and his daughter Becky (Travis) Smith. His legacy lives on in his beloved grandchildren, John Martin, Macy Smith, Lexi Smith, and Luke Smith.

John is preceded in death by his parents, David Eldridge D'Armond, Jr. and Helen Walters D'Armond; his son, John Marion D'Armond II; and his brother, David Eldridge (Butch) D'Armond III.

Visitation will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Monday, March 24, from 2-4 PM. Visitation will be followed immediately by the funeral and interment in Green Acres Cemetery in Crossville, TN, where Reverend Louis Davis will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be John Martin, Luke Smith, Tom Flynn, Kyle Turner, John Munro, and Mark Porter.

Arrangements are being handled with care by Bilbrey Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The family is grateful for the support and prayers they have received during this difficult time and extends their sincere thanks to all who have shared in John's journey.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
