Crossville, TN - Jo Ellen Blessing Adcox passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 15 at her home in Crossville. Jo was born on Jan. 24, 1937 in Columbus, OH, the third of four daughters born to the late William E. and Jeannette M. Blessing. In addition to her parents, Jo Ellen is preceded in death by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue (Jack) Stamets and Nancy (Bob) Myers. Tragically, Jo is also preceded in death by two of her children, William Joseph Speakman and Kimberley Kay Speakman. Jo Ellen is survived by her husband, Phil Adcox; son, Glenn (Tami) Speakman; sister, Judy (Tom) Kosciuszko; grandson, Steven (Jerrica) Bender; Phil's daughters, Marcia Adcox, Pam (Lisa) Adcox-Mensing, Nathan (Jessica) Saylors and Bradley Saylors. Also, loving nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Jo Ellen graduated from Bexley High school in 1955 and went on to work in the office of the JCPenney store at Town and Country. After marriage and being a homemaker for a number of years, she went to school to become an LPN. Jo then worked with Dr. Winans at Canyon Medical Center. It was while working there that she met Phil and they married. Years later, they decided to go full-time RVing, so they sold everything and hit the road! Eventually they settled in Crossville, just an hour or so east of Nashville, where Phil had family. They joined Pomona Methodist Church and became part of the community of members and friends.

A memorial service for Jo Ellen will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m., family from 1 to 2 p.m., at Pomona Methodist Church, 57 POW Camp Rd., Crossville.
