Janice Inetha (Campbell) Burgess
September 22, 1953 - May 11, 2024
Janice Inetha (Campbell) Burgess, 70, was born on September 22, 1953, to Creel Campbell and Betty Nichols in Pikeville, TN, and passed away at her home on May 11, 2024 in Crossville.
She enjoyed sunrises and sunsets, going to the beach, and new adventures, but her passion was pickin' her guitar (well any instrument) and playing true old time bluegrass. She was a member of the Lantana Drifters for almost 30 years followed by the Bac-Trak-ers. She loved hard and played harder. She was a truly incredible woman that will be missed by so many.
She is survived by her son, Dewayne (Theresa); daughter, Charlotte (Jake); granddaughter, Brittany Marr; sister, Lisa (Dennis) (Zachary) (Whitney) Sapp; brother, Randy (Debbie) Campbell.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Delmer; both of her parents; and a brother, Dwight Campbell.
A sunset gravesite (only) service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 7 p.m. CST. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Allen Burgess Cemetery. Dress is casual. There will be bluegrass music and snack food. Bring your instrument, some finger food (no cooking allowed) and a chair for a good old fashioned jam session. Services are provided by Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
