James "Jim" Evert Lawson, 94, Ramey Rd., Crossville, died Jan. 7, 2002 in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 9 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens, Pastors Jimmy Turner and Eugene Weakley official and special music by Jimmy Bivens, Cara Cross and Bonnie Austin. Mr. Lawson was born Sept. 13, 1907, in Lincoln County, MO, son of Daniel and Carrie Willis Lawson. He was an insurance salesman and member of Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Wanda and Roy Bivens, Bobbie and Leonard Barnwell and Shelby Ann and Clifford Brewer, all of Crossville; sons Odean Lawson of Spring City, Dexter Lawson of Crossville and Dwight Lawson of Murfreesboro; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; brothers Omar, Sam and Raymond Lawson, all of Crossville; and sister, Ruth Lawson, also of Crossville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zula Gladys Stapp Lawson, son J.D. Lawson, brothers Clarence and L.A. Lawson and sister Della Mae Parrott. Pallbearers were Nick Lawson, Ricky Lawson, Jerry Brewer, Mike Brewer, Jeff Cross, Jeremy McCullough, Bryan Lawson and Ricky Parker. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
