Knoxville, TN - Jacqueline "Jackie" Melton Griswold, 64, of Knoxville, TN, passed away at her home on Feb. 2, 2026.

Born to Ervie Charles Melton and Sue Melton on Oct. 21, 1961, in Crossville, Jackie was the eldest of three siblings. She graduated at the top of her class from Cumberland County High School in 1979 where she was a cheerleader, yearbook editor, and class officer.

She attended the University of Tennessee where she joined the Phi Mu Sorority and graduated with a degree in accounting in 1983. In 1985, she returned to the University of Tennessee for law school. She was an active CPA and attorney for over 30 years. She was a longtime member at First Baptist Concord Church and attended Dorton United Methodist Church as a visitor in Crossville. Jackie enjoyed hiking, scrapbooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by son, Justin (Ashleigh) Griswold; daughter, Jessica (Trey) Clark; grandchildren, Jupiter Clark, Annagrace Clark, Liam Clark, and Bennett Griswold; mother, Sue Melton; sister, Barbie (Tim) Cokkinias; nieces, Tessa Cokkinias, and Tiffany (Colton) Fincher.

Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Ervie Charles Melton; brother, Charles W. "Chuck" Melton; aunt, Sharon Parker; and aunt, Helen Melton.

Funeral service was held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. CST.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to YWCA Knoxville.
