Irma Rita (Perry) Adams of Plainfield, IL, formerly of Crossville, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on July 22, 2019, surrounded by many of her children. She was 97. Irma was born in Ashtabula, OH, on April 23, 1922, to Thomas W. Perry and Mary A. (Keeney) Perry and is survived by her eight children, 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Irma was married to Frank A. Adams for 28 years before he passed. Together they had eight children: Tim (Mary), Colorado; Robert (Sherry), California; Debbie (Ken), California; Nancy (Norbert), Oregon; Dana (Mara), Plainfield, IL; Pam (Mike) Stubbs, Crossville; Matt (Laura), Texas; and Perry (Denise), California.

She was a devote Catholic and a member of St. Mary's of Plainfield and a previous member of St. Alphonsus Church of Crossville. She loved being around people and volunteered regularly in her church women's groups in Illinois, Tennessee, Colorado and California over her lifetime. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, and three sisters, Coletta, Dorothy and Jeanne.

Irma's family will always remember her starting every phone conversation with "How's your weather?" She had a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh which went along well with her love of the holidays. Her family believes she kept Hallmark in business because she sent greeting cards to her family and friends for every holiday and special event. She was the first to put up the Christmas tree, send out her Christmas cards and decorate for every holiday. There wasn't a month in the year that didn't have a designated holiday to be celebrated and worthy of special decorations.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Plainfield, IL, on Aug. 31 at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. A funeral mass will be held in California with private internment of her ashes at a later date.
