Herbert Waler Carlson, 77, Fairfield Glade, passed away Jan. 11, 2002, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002, at Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfield Glade, Rev. Gerald Weeks officiating. Mr. Carlson was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Gust and Aleda Horneui Carlson. He was a retired letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Marie Carlson of Fairfield Glade; daughter Judith Marie Carlson of Fairfield Glade; brother LeRoy Carlson of Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carlson, and a sister, Lillian Obston. Arrangements were made by Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.
