Helen Mae Hawn, 84, of Crossville, passed away Jan. 4, 2002. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 7 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Hyder Cemetery. Bro. Dwayne Swallows and Bro. B.J. Brown officiated. Mrs. Hawn was born March 12, 1917, in Morgan County, TN, the daughter of Virdie Lee and Grace Wilson Brasel. She was a homemaker, and a member of Dorton Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Lou Edmonds, Velma Manis, Virginia Farrell and Brenda Dyer, all of Crossville, and Wanda Gordon of Harriman, TN; sister, Iva Summers of Wartburg, TN; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Hawn; and brothers, Nathan Brasel, Claude Brasel and Roy Brasel. Pallbearers were Gene Gist, Tommy Dyer, William Gordon, Glenn Edmonds, Joshua Johnson and Jason Edmonds. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
