Glen Ellsworth Goergen Obituary
Crossville, TN - Glen Ellsworth Goergen of Fairfield Glade, passed away Nov. 7, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his wife of 48 years and his beloved sister-in-law.
He was born on May 20, 1930, in Buffalo, NY, son of Berenice (Dickerman) and Ellsworth Goergen. He received his educational degrees from Cortland State Teacher's College and the University of Buffalo. His career in education started in Corning, NY, as a physical education teacher. He went on to Salamanca, NY, where he was a combination principal/sixth grade teacher. He became the principal of Seneca Elementary School when it was built and remained in Salamanca for 31 years until his retirement.
Glen served in the United States Air Force during the Koren Conflict.
Summers were spent boating and water skiing on the Alleghany River. In winter he enjoyed downhill skiing, which he continued well into his mid-80s.
He and his wife, Debby, moved to Tennessee 22 years ago. He made some wonderful friendships here. Christ Lutheran Church held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Debby and his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Tod Foy.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity, or Christ Lutheran Church Columbarium Fund.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 481 Snead Dr. Fairfield Glade.
