Franklin Adcox Obituary

Nov. 7, 1932—May 24, 2013 Franklin Adcox, 80, of Crossville, passed away May 24, 2013, at Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral service was held May 28 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Franklin served overseas during the Korean War in the United States Army. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and amateur radio. Franklin was born  Nov. 7, 1932, in Kingston to Gilbert and Addie Johnson Adcox. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Velma Wright Adcox; sons, Michael Adcox and Rick Adcox; daughters, Karen Skinner and Patti Smith (Michael); grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa, Todd, Mikey, Amanda, Shauna, Adam, Kim and Alicia; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Gifford Adcox; and sister, Elsie Tollett. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Adcox; grandson, Matthew Easterly; and brother, Eugene Adcox. Pallbearers were Rick Adcox, Mike Smith, Todd Adcox, Mike Adcox, Adam Adcox and Loren Coon. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
