Crossville, TN - Elizabeth Tittsworth Clapp, Beth, was born on July 13, 1954, at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, TN, to John Matlock Tittsworth and Anna Maxine Thompson Tittsworth. She was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Knoxville and attended services there throughout her childhood.
She attended Mt. Olive Elementary School and graduated from Doyle High School. After high school graduation, she moved to Savannah, GA, to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design, graduating with a bachelors' degree.
Beth fell in love with historic Savannah and decided to make the city her home after graduation. She bought an 1800s house on Alice Street, which she lovingly renovated and updated over several years. She also opened an antiques and furniture refinishing store named ETC. In addition, she put her considerable artistic abilities into pet portraiture, reflecting her love of dogs, Boston Terriers especially.
After a number of years in Savannah, Beth moved back to her birthplace, Knoxville, making her home with her mother Maxine Tittsworth. When Maxine died in 2011, Beth moved to Crossville to be close to her cousin, Jean Cheely. She passed away in Crossville.
Beth is survived by her sister, Mary Lynn Grover of Denver, CO; cousin, Jean Cheely of Crossville; cousin, Ann Hofmeister of Hendersonville, TN; and numerous other cousins in Tennessee and Colorado.
A simple graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville, TN, on Aug. 19, 2025, at 1 p.m. Messages and condolences may be posted at www.crossvillememorial.com.
