Doyle Adams|Aug. 20, 1923 - Aug. 31, 2005|Doyle Adams, 82, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 31, 2005. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 3 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Joe Campbell officiating. Burial was in Fredonia Cemetery. Military honors were provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Adams was born Aug. 20, 1923 in Cumberland County, the son of James Thomas Adams and Hattie Vianne Goss Adams. He was a retired quarry worker and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Woodrow and Carla Reed Adams of Nashville, Roy Adams of Georgia, Lynn and Gina Smith Adams of Murfreesboro, and Jackie and Terri Johnson Adams of Nashville; daughters and sons-in-law, Vianne and Bobby Moore of Crossville, Doylene Goss of Smyrna, Henrietta and Eddie Blaylock of Crossville, and Nancy and Mike Knox of Smyrna; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Pearl Tabor; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annie Rector and Bertha Bowman; brothers, Henry, Lester, Stanley and Woodrow Adams; and great-grandchild, Dillon Calahan. Pallbearers were Dustin Adams, Tyler Knox, Bill Goss, Joey Moore, Todd Gentry and Robert Dyer. Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
