Crossville, Tennessee - Derith Anne Skipworth, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother of three, great grandmother of two and loved friends. Passed away Feb. 16, 2026, in Crossville, TN, after a long illness. Derith is survived by husband Reverend Arnold Gene Skipworth, daughter Kristina (Kevin) McChesney of Grand Junction, CO, son Mark Adams of Clarksville, TN, brother Ronald (Jeanne) Stoner of Bowling Green, OH, and sister Sue (David) Evans of Bonita Springs, FL. Derith was preceded in death by her parents William and Freda Stoner.

Derith was born in Indianapolis, IN, on June 12, 1939. She graduated from Ball State University in 1960. She had a long, distinguished and successful career as an elementary school teacher in Indianapolis, IN, Yuba City, CA, and Longmont, CO. While teaching in Longmont, she was recognized as "Teacher of the Year." She was a popular, effective teacher and much loved by her students.

Upon retiring from teaching, she moved to Fairfield Glade, TN, where she was very active in many community charity organizations.

There will be a memorial service March 26 at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Glade Methodist Church at 231 Westchester Dr. There will be an interment of her ashes at 10:30 a.m. in the memorial garden for family.
