David (Dave) Larry Atkins, 77, of Crossville, passed away on June 8, 2024 at U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. He was born on March 21, 1947 in Cumberland County, TN to the late Merville and Ruby (Vandever) Atkins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Frazier. He Is survived by his two children, Heather Leigh Atkins and Mark Stuart Atkins, sisters Bobbye Newberry and Carol Buckner, and a host of nephews and nieces, and cousins.
Dave graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1966 and served four years in the U.S. Army with overseas duty in Seoul, Korea. Over his lifetime, he worked as a mechanic, draftsman, map compiler, carpenter's helper, stonemason, drove for North American Van Lines, and worked several years with AmeriGas prior to his retirement.
He loved reading the Bible and enjoyed nature's great outdoors. Hobbies included boating, fishing, and bird-watching.
A memorial/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
