Funeral Services for Chet Buttram, 72, of Monterey, were conducted on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1 p.m. from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Michael Swallows officiated and interment followed in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Nurses Honors were provided by Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard.
Mrs. Buttram was born on Sunday, September 30, 1951, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Lonnie Chester and Rose Anna Beaty Stone. Mrs. Buttram passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Buttram was a Registered Nurse working at Cumberland Medical Center for 27 years and later with Livingston Regional Hospital until retiring. She was an avid UT sports fan. She was Baptist in faith.
She was survived by her husband of almost 47 years, Bill "Duce" Buttram of Monterey; step daughter, Krista and DeWayne VanWinkle of Monterey; grandchildren, Blake and Lindsey VanWinkle, Alexa and Drew Swallows; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Asher, Kreed, and due any day, Karter; sisters, Violet Barnes of Crossville, Clarice and Billy Winningham of Crossville; brother, Jeff and Michelle Stone of Crossville; nieces and nephews, Jason Winningham, Travis Winningham, Jessica Adkins, Rebekah Leffew, Saprina Boring, Kenny Stone, and Natalie Stone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, Jim Bob Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested memorial donations be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital. The family received friends at Goff Funeral Home on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Arrangements and Care provided by D.M.
