Crossville, TN - Cherie Kazmierczak, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
Cherie was born to John and Joy Nedeau Nairn on Aug. 4, 1955. The second youngest of five children, Cherie spent most of her childhood in Florida as her father completed and retired from his military service. As an adult, life brought Cherie to South Jersey where she lived and worked for over a decade. After reconnecting with the love of her life, Frank, Cherie relocated to Illinois where they lived until they happily retired to their current home state of Tennessee.
A woman of strong faith and a love of Jesus, Cherie loved her church and serving others. Alongside Frank, Cherie enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity where she and Frank were recognized as Volunteers of the Year in 2016 and 2017. She enjoyed working at the ReStore, the Habitat office answering phones and working closely with families as they celebrated owning their first home through the Habitat homeownership program. Cherie loved the Florida State Seminoles, vacations to St. George Island, and spending time with her family. Above all, the thing Cherie enjoyed the most was being a Grammie.
Cherie leaves behind her husband of 24 years, Frank; her daughter, Liz (Jason) Draper; stepchildren, Tracy (Rich) Hood, Frank (Andrea) Kazmierczak, Carrie Kazmierczak; grandchildren, Frank Kazmierczak III, Giovanna, Davina, and Zane Hood, and Harper and Skyler Draper; sisters, Jan (John) Shields, and Gina (Bryce) Blair; and multiple beloved nieces and nephews. Cherie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Joy, and her brothers, Rod and Terry.
A celebration of life will be held at Cumberland Fellowship Church on West Avenue in Crossville on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cumberland House Hospice in Cherie's name.
