Charles West, 75, of Monterey, passed away Jan. 15, 2002, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home, with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery with military honors. The Rev. Bobby Floyd will officiate. Mr. West was born March 25, 1926, in Monterey, to the late Charles and Maudena Smith West. He was a WWII Navy veteran and member of Monterey VFW Post 6277. He is survived by a sister, Opal Bussell, of Albuquerque, NM; and 13 nieces and nephews which include Joyce Norrod, Donna Copley and Danny West, all of Monterey. He was preceded in death by brothers Horace, Carlen and Jackie West. Goff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
