Graveside services for Charles Hoyt Adkins, 72, of Knoxville, who passed away May 17, 1999, were held May 20 at Green Acre Memory Garden, with the Rev Russell Honeycutt officiating. Special music was by Deloy Brown. Mr. Adkins was born Sept. 29, 1926 in Fentress County, TN, the son of A.B. Adkins Sr. and Linnie Emery Adkins. Mr. Adkins was a branch manager for IBM, and he was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Survivors include his sisters, Linnie Green of Murfreesboro, TN, Mattie Lou Kemmer of Crab Orchard, Donna Reid of Vandalia, OH, and Thelma Anderson of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.B. and Linnie Adkins Sr.; brother, A.B. Adkins Jr.; and sister, Edna Keaton. Pallbearers were Bill Aytes, Jim Kemmer Sr., Jim Kemmer Jr., Tom Kemmer, Roger Denton and Dennis Johnson. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
