Billy Darst Jones, 72, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 30, 2001. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 31 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Hugh Gross officiating. Graveside committal was held Jan. 2, 2002, at Green Acres Memory Gardens. Mr. Jones was born July 28, 1929, in Coeburn, VA, the son of William L. and Ilene Frasier Jones. He was a machine repairman for Udylite Corp., and was of the Baptist faith. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army following World War II. Survivors include his daughters, Lynda Apley, Brenda Murray and Peggy Jones, all of Michigan, and Beverly Jones of Oak Ridge, TN; sons, Billy Dale Jones and David Gary Jones, both of Crossville; brother, Larry Jones of Grandview, TN; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ezell Jones. Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
