Billy Edward Ashburn Obituary

Billy Edward Ashburn, 96, passed from this life on Saturday, August 17 at Life Care Center in Crossville. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a carpenter and builder by trade and a farmer. He worked in Oak Ridge for Union Carbide and Martin Marietta for 32 years. He loved to farm and he loved to fish. He liked nothing better than to ride his tractor and work the cattle on his farm. He would then head to the lake for some fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Dean Ashburn; parents, Leonard D. and Donna E. Ashburn; brother, Charles Ashburn; and sister-in-law Alice Ashburn; nephew, David Ashburn.

He is survived by his children, Kaye Ashburn and Terry (Bonnie) Ashburn; nieces and nephews, Nancy Ashburn, Mark Ashburn, Jim Farmer (Jennifer), Jeanne Stevens (Randy) and Bobby Farmer.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20th at Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville from 2 to 4 p.m. with the service following visitation.
