Barbara Jean (Goodwin) Gussow passed away on November 12, 2023 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, Tennessee.
Barbara was born May 30, 1935 in Pleasant Hill Tennessee. Growing up in Crossville she was involved in many school, religious and community activities. She graduated from CCHS where she was a cheerleader. She aspired to be an opera singer and her love of music continued throughout her life with family, church and missionary work.
She, her husband Stan, and their three children lived in many locations throughout the country and the world. First, at various airports and U.S. air bases working for the FAA, and later after settling in Nashville she continued her missionary work in the Caribbean. She was a devoted mother and housewife whose steadfast love helped carry her family through life's troubles.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Thomas (J.T.) and Genese Goodwin, also by her husband Stanley Gussow.
She is survived by her daughter Carla Hurwitz and husband William Hurwitz, daughter Frances Campbell, son Mark Gussow, brother Tommy Goodwin, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held at Bilbrey Funeral Home in Crossville, Tennessee.
