Arlon was a pulpit minister for over 60 years serving the congregation at Lantana Church of Christ and Mayland Church of Christ. He also held gospel meetings at numerous congregations all over the Southeastern United States.
In addition to preaching, Arlon served his community through the Cumberland County education system as a teacher, coach, high school principal, and culminating his tenure as the superintendent of schools.
Following his career in education, Arlon served as operations manager for McCormick Trucking, Inc., in Murfreesboro, TN, until retiring in 2022. In his role, he negotiated contracts with the United States Postal Service and oversaw the transportation of the U.S. mail.
Arlon was a man of integrity and influence throughout his life. He married many couples, eulogized countless friends and family, and baptized hundreds. His influence and leadership were also felt by his wife of 66 years, his daughter, four grandsons and six great-grandchildren. He lived by example with a kind heart but a stern hand of guidance.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
