Amy Viola Spears
Amy V. Spears, 97 and a half years young, of Crossville, "took her trip" to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Feb. 14, 2020, where she will reunite with recently deceased son, James "JC" Spears, as well as son-in-law, Bill Dodson.
She was born Sept. 16, 1922, in Pulaski, VA, daughter of the late Lawrence Bailey and Margaret (Turpin) Bailey.
After growing up in West Virginia, she eventually moved to the Washington, DC/Maryland area to work for the Marriott Corp. She loved her work and the Marriott Corp. family. After 20 years, she retired to Crossville to be with family. Once in Crossville, she decided to start her second career in life working for Walmart Corp. for another 20 years. Walmart was so dear to her heart as were the people she worked with. She retired for the second time in 2010 at the age of 88.
Amy loved her family most of all. She also enjoyed her sunroom where she could bask in the sun and spend countless time looking at her flowers, plants and birds, and the squirrels playing in trees nearby.
She is survived by her daughters, Kitty Dodson, Rita Lamb and Jeannie Spears; grandchildren, Mark Spears (Vicki), Katrina Lamb, Debra Anderson, Richard Dodson, Janice K. Spears, Amy C. Spears (Gary) and Dustin Dodson (Kathryn); great-grandchildren, Chris Spears, Lindsey Chapman, Mathew Spears, Adalyn Stewart, Sydney Dodson, Cory Anderson and Jacob Dodson; and nephews, Burley O'Dell (Midge) and Kenneth O'Dell (Linny) and their children.
Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Monday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Dustin Dodson officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

I have many found memories working with Miss Amy at Walmart. She was always so sweet and a joy to work with. She had many loyal customers that would wait in line just to checkout at her register. My prayers are with her family.

I just thought the world of Ms. Amy. She was so generous, kindhearted, and a gentle soul. I always got the best hugs from her. I loved her and will greatly miss her!
