Alice Cooney Murphy, 82, passed into life with the Lord on February 21, 2025, while at Cumberland Medical Center. Alice was born in Farmington, Missouri on August 27, 1942. It was in Farmington that Alice met the love of her life, Fred Murphy, at a Walgreens in 1960 where Alice worked behind the soda counter. After marrying, Alice and Fred moved to Ohio and lived in several communities there. They moved from Sylvania to Fairfield Glade in 1997. Alice was a loving mother and grandmother, a formidable tennis player, a long-time member of PEO, a devoted bridge player, an avid quilter, and a wonderful friend to many. She is, and will always be, greatly missed by her family and many friends.
In addition to her husband Fred, Alice is survived by sons Brian (Sandi), Greg (Arra), Mike (Lori) and grandchildren Hailey, Parker, Mekayla, Alex, and Kaia.
A memorial service for Alice will take place at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, 231 Westchester Dr., on Saturday March 29th, at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. The inurnment will be held immediately after the service in the Columbarium located behind the church building.
