William "Bill" George Spangenberger, 95, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.
He was born March 19, 1921, in Yonkers, NY, son of the late George and Ruth (Chamberlain) Spangenberger.
He worked as a metal fabricator, a dock hand, a chef, a factory supervisor and a truck driver and was of the Catholic faith. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II and in Korea during the Korean War.
Bill loved dancing and listening to music, especially opera and classical.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Spangenberger, Crossville, TN; daughter, Karolyn Lind (Jim), Lake Placid, FL; son, William G. Spangenberger (Bonnie), Navarre, FL; and grandchildren, Richard and Karolyn Marie Lloyd (Fred), Lake Placid, FL.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, George.
Funeral services will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. with Fr. Alberto Sescon officiating. Interment in St. Francis of Assisi Columbarium.
