William Lafeyette Godsey, 66, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
He was born July 20, 1950, in Sidney, OH, son of the late Claude Godsey and Florence Mildred (Miller) Godsey.
William was known to his family and friends as "Bill" and he never met a stranger. He was hired by General Motors in Kettering, OH, on June 6, 1977, and retired after 28 years of service on March 1, 2005. After retirement, Bill and his loving wife, Pamela Jean (Pack) Godsey, moved to Crossville to be near to their in-laws.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Godsey, Crossville; sons, Richard Andrew Godsey of Troy, OH, and Phillip "Ray-Ray" Tabor of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Melinda Kay Gau of Ohio; step-sister, Karen Davis, Dayton, OH; mother-in-law, Elsie Rose (Dixon) Pack; father-in-law, Garland Wright Pack; sister-in-law, Tammy Jo (Pack) Dodson and husband David Earl Dodson; and brother-in-law, Garland Pack Jr. and wife Angela (Moore) Pack. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lauren Gau, Kristen Fryman, Drew Godsey, William Godsey, Adam Godsey and Emily Clendenin.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his step-father, Harold Hangen; brothers, Mike Godsey and Robert Lunsford; and Barbara Jackson.
Graveside services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Mark Bass officiating. Interment in Fredonia Cemetery.
